IVF (Inverted File Index)
IVF (Inverted File Index): A vector index that partitions space into clusters and limits search to a subset. Quantization assigns vectors to centroids; the nprobe parameter determines how many partitions to visit. Increasing nprobe often improves recall at the cost of latency.
